Gina Khalifa obtained her master's degree in psychology from Derby University-U.K. She is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Gina is passionate about working with kids, teens and young adults and has experience working both at clinics and in school settings.
Gina works with a diverse range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, divorce, and family dysfunction.
Gina also works with children who have emotional dysregulation, are inattentive, and hyperactive where she helps them develop their confidence, self-esteem, communication, and social skills.
For younger aged children, Gina uses play therapy; she is a member of play therapy international and is registered on the united kingdom’s register of practitioners in therapeutic play skills
For adolescences and young adults, she uses talking therapy such as CBT, DBT and EFIT ; if needed these are coupled with creative arts.
Gina has developed advanced expertise in trauma healing. She is the first Egyptian clinician to enroll in Phase 1 certification for the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), a trauma-informed, brain-based approach. In addition, she is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and has specialized training in EMDR.
Gina is also the first trained therapist to introduce Theraplay® in Egypt. Theraplay is a dyadic child and family therapy model that aims to strengthen secure attachments between parents and their children. Moreover, she is a certified Circle of Security® facilitator and has received training in child–parent attachment assessments.
She is currently participating in the NAPA Parent Mental Health fellowship at UC Davis to enhance her ability to support mothers and children from birth to age five.
