Counseling Psychologist

Marwa Hussein has been working in the field of counseling and psychotherapy, for over 20 years, with a wide range of organizations and educational settings both in Egypt and the UK.

Ms. Hussein has a Masters of Science (MSc) in counseling psychology from London Metropolitan University. She has been a formal member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) since 2002 and a member of the Egyptian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy since 2017.

Being a senior counselor at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Ms. Hussein has wide experience working with young adults and their families. She has been providing individual therapy and family consultation for undergraduates (aged 16-24) as well as graduate students (aged above 24) since 2004. Her work also involves conducting assessments, case conceptualization, Short-term therapy and long-term therapy.

Ms. Hussein has extensive training and experience in various therapeutic approaches including; advanced CBT, DBT and Schema therapy. She works with cases of personality disorders, mood disorders, traumas.
