Dr. Mona Al Dabbagh, PhD is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with more than 27 years of experience since June 1996 in treating clients both in-patient (The Behman Hospital)and out-patient settings. Dr. Mona received her doctorate degree (PhD) in 2004 from Cairo University and her Master degree (MA) in 1996 from the American University in Cairo. She is specialized in addiction. She works with clients struggling with substance abuse, alcohol, and sex addiction. She also works with people suffering from depression, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, borderline personality disorder and traumas (PTSD). Dr. Mona does marriage and couple therapy, as well as parenting and family therapy.
Dr. Mona uses different modalities depending upon the needs of the client. Dr. Mona mastered the use of Psychoanalytical techniques as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also uses other modalities when needed as The Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) , The Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), and EMDR. Dr. Mona is using the Compassionate Inquiry approach (CI).
This new somatic approach works with the body, emotions and perceptions of the client. It connects the client to the present moment and explores compassionately how the past traumatic experiences affect the client’s present.
Dr. Mona sees clients from both Middle Eastern and Western Cultural backgrounds.
She conducts therapy fluently both in Arabic and English.
