Shams Labib is a PhD clinical psychologist, who graduated from AUC in 2002, then pursued a masters and PhD in clinical psychology from France, Université de Paris Descartes in 2015. She is totally fluent in Arabic, French and English language and is works with clients in the three languages.
She specializes in psychotherapy with adults, and adolescents. However she has had past experience with children.
She has worked in very diverse settings such as NGOs (Medecins du Monde), an IVF Center, in school counselling and in several private practice clinics.
Her theoretical approach is eclectic, with training both in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic psychotherapy. She also shoes interest in humanistic thought in therapy.
She has an interest for psychiatric disorders, relationship issues, grief, and trauma. After finishing her PhD, she has developed a subspecialisation in working on parents/mothers- babies/ toddlers interactions, pregnancy issues and post-partum disorders.
